The Little Red Cottage art + ecology space suits artists, makers, educators, community groups and small organisations looking for a space that feels intimate, thoughtful and inspiring.

With its history, charm and creative atmosphere, it provides a setting that feels personal rather than formal.

While the cottage has a strong connection to art, ecology and environmental ideas, it also welcomes a wider range of creative and community-based uses.

  • The Little Red Cottage is not just a gallery; it's a hub for those passionate about ecological discussions and environmental consciousness. The space is also available for public talks, workshops and meetings.

  • Exhibitions - $150 per week
    Workshops - $50 per day

    Artwork sold during exhibitions is subject to a 15% commission

  • The Little Red Cottage offers the following items for exhibitors/workshop providers (to be used at their own risk and liability):

    • A unique historic interior with cypress walls, high ceilings and wide hoop pine floors

    • Three gallery rooms with picture rails

    • Hanging equipment - including 30 x hooks; 20 x wire/nylon hanging wires; ladder; hammer; various picture hanging fixtures.

    • Trestle tables - 6

    • Chairs - 12 red/orange plastic

    • Basic catering items - including glasses, plates, bowls, tablecloths and napkins. To be cleaned and returned after use.

    An etching printing press is also available for hire for an additional fee.

  • Exhibitions can run for up to 20 days, with any extension by arrangement.

    Gallery hours currently align with Forest Heart ecoNursery downstairs:

    • Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, and

    • Saturday, 9am to 2pm

    • Other hours may be arranged in advance.

  • Exhibitors and hirers are responsible for set-up and pack-down within the agreed timeframe.

    Public events such as artist talks, launch events, and workshops are welcomed as part of the hire and can be discussed during the booking process.

  • The Little Red Cottage offers the following items for exhibitors/workshop providers – to be used at their own risk and liability.

    Hanging equipment – 30 x hooks; 20 x wire/nylon hanging wires; picture rails in 3 gallery rooms; ladder; hammer; various picture hanging fixtures.

    Trestle Tables – use of 6 trestle tables

    Chairs – up to 12 plastic red/orange chairs available.

    Catering equipment – tall cupboard contains wine glasses, various plates and bowls, tablecloths, napkins, disposable/biodegradable cups etc. Please clean and return after use.

  • Booking Confirmation:

    Submission of this form does not guarantee a booking. Confirmation will be provided by the Gallery Coordinator upon review.

    Exhibition Duration:

    Exhibitions can run for a period of up to 20 days.  Any extension to be approved by the Gallery Coordinator in advance.

    Gallery Hours:

    Exhibitors to adhere to the gallery's operating hours, which coincide with Forest Heart ecoNursery downstairs: Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm. Exceptions to this would be Opening or Launch Events or evening artist talks. However, arrangements can be made with Coordinator in advance for changes in gallery hours.  

    Set-Up and Take Down:

    Exhibitors are responsible for the set-up and take-down of their exhibition within the agreed-upon timeframe.

    Artwork Themes:

    All artwork would ideally align with environmental themed / nature-based art. The primary medium to be specified in the booking form.

    Additional Requirements:

    Any special display or technical requirements to be communicated in advance and approved by the Gallery Coordinator.

    Public Engagement:

    Exhibitors are encouraged to organize public events such as artist talks or workshops. Proposed events to be communicated and agreed upon.

    Promotion:

    TheLittle Red Cottage reserves the right to use images of exhibited artworks for promotional purposes, such as newsletters and social media posts, unless otherwise specified by the artist. The artist is welcome to submit a suite of preferred images for cross-promotional purposes.

    Security:

    While all reasonable precautions will be taken, The Little Red Cottage is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of exhibited artworks.

    Agreement Confirmation:

    By submitting this form, the exhibitor agrees to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein.

    Fees:

    Exhibition venue hire fees is: $100/week. Commission rate for artwork sold is 15%.

    Workshop venue hire is $50/day.

    Cancellation:

    Exhibitors to provide a minimum of 7 days’ notice for cancellation. Late cancellations may incur fees.

    Compliance:

    Exhibitors to comply with all local laws and regulations regarding the exhibition and sale of artwork.

    Declaration:

    The exhibitor declares that all information provided is accurate, and the submitted artworks are their original creations.

    Liability:

    The Little Red Cottage and its representatives are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the exhibition.

    Termination:

    The Little Red Cottage reserves the right to terminate an exhibition if the exhibitor fails to comply with these terms and conditions.

    Changes to Terms:

    The Little Red Cottage reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions. Exhibitors will be notified of any changes in advance.
